Long story short, used Roomba 550 Pet Series ( we named him Roy ) for 3 months. Was happy but got the chance to buy the Neato XV-12 (we named her Nev ) for a good price on Woot and went for it. We have had her for about a month now and she does a much better job than Roy. I wish Nev could dock more than once to recharge and keep going, but oh well. It would also be nice if she had a side brush like Roy does, because then she would be unstopable. The only area that Roy does better than Nev is cleaning up against the walls, thanks to the side brush. All in all, I would purchase the Neato over the Roomba any day of the week. With the ability to update her firmware, I don't see her getting out of date any time soon!
